Definitions
Cookies are small text files that sites visited by users send to their terminals, where they are stored for subsequent re-transmission back to the same sites on the user’s next visit. So-called “third-party” cookies are created by a different website to the one the user is currently visiting. This is because every site may contain elements (images, maps, sound, specific links to web pages on other domains, etc.) residing on different servers to that of the site visited.
Types of cookies

Technical cookies are cookies used exclusively to “enable a communication to be transmitted on an electronic communication network, or, to the extent only strictly necessary, to enable an information provider to supply a service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user ” (cf. Recital 122, para 1, of the GDPR). Technical cookies are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the Data Controller or website manager. They may be divided into navigation or session cookies that ensure normal navigation and use of the website; cookie analytics are similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site in question; functionality cookies allow the user to navigate on the basis of a series of selected criteria designed to improve the service provided. The installation of these cookies does not require prior consent by users, although the website manager is under the obligation, pursuant to Art. 13 of the GDPR, to inform the user, in the manner considered most appropriate, that said devices are used.
- Profiling cookies. Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences indicated by the user when navigating the network. In light of the particularly invasive nature such devices may have on the user’s private sphere, European and Italian law require that the user be adequately informed of the use of profiling cookies and be asked to provide his/her consent to such use.

The website also includes components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web-traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter “Google”). Duration of cookies
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until closure of the browser or until the logout command is activated. Disabling “third-party” cookies in no way impedes website navigation. Settings may be specifically defined for the different sites and web applications.
